What does the Sync Quality Warning mean?
Understand the non-blocking warning NodeCam shows when multiple phones may not be tightly aligned.
Before you start
- Make sure you are signed in to NodeCam on the phone you are using.
- Open the correct recording session before changing settings or recording.
- If you are working with volunteers, confirm who is the session owner and who is contributing a camera angle.
Steps
- Pause before starting the important take if you see the warning.
- Confirm all phones are on the same WiFi network.
- Move phones closer to the access point if signal is weak.
- Avoid guest networks that block devices from seeing each other.
- Give NodeCam a few moments to improve time sync.
- If the warning remains, decide whether the take can continue or whether to simplify the setup.
What to expect
- The warning does not always block recording.
- It means NodeCam is telling you that alignment may be less accurate than normal.
- Recordings can still be useful, but editors may need more manual adjustment.
Common gotchas
- A warning before a long sermon matters more than a warning before a short cutaway clip.
- Bad WiFi can make sync less reliable even if internet speed tests look fine.
- Do not ignore repeated warnings across all phones; fix the network before the service if you can.
If you still need help
Contact NodeCam support with your session name, device model, iOS version, and a screenshot of any warning or error message. Do not delete recordings until upload, export, or transfer has been verified.
