Owners vs contributors: what can each person do?
Understand the difference between the person managing the session and volunteers contributing camera angles.
Before you start
- Make sure you are signed in to NodeCam on the phone you are using.
- Open the correct recording session before changing settings or recording.
- If you are working with volunteers, confirm who is the session owner and who is contributing a camera angle.
Steps
- Use the owner account to create the session.
- Have the owner choose transfer mode, orientation, recording settings, and scheduled windows.
- Use the owner view to invite contributors, review session videos, export, and delete the session.
- Have contributors join from the invite link or QR code.
- Contributors should focus on recording their own phone angle and checking their upload or transfer status.
What to expect
- Owners see Session Details with management sections.
- Contributors see Recording Session and their own contribution-focused areas.
- Some destructive actions, such as deleting the session, are owner-only.
Common gotchas
- Do not share the owner account password with every volunteer; use invite links instead.
- If a contributor needs export access, coordinate with the owner.
- Make sure the owner is available after the service to verify files.
If you still need help
Contact NodeCam support with your session name, device model, iOS version, and a screenshot of any warning or error message. Do not delete recordings until upload, export, or transfer has been verified.
