How do I add another phone as a camera?
Invite a volunteer phone into the same recording session so it can contribute a synchronized camera angle.
Before you start
- Make sure you are signed in to NodeCam on the phone you are using.
- Open the correct recording session before changing settings or recording.
- If you are working with volunteers, confirm who is the session owner and who is contributing a camera angle.
Steps
- Open the session as the owner.
- Find the Invite or Contributors section on Session Details.
- Create or copy the invite link.
- Share the link by text, AirDrop, email, or by showing the QR code.
- On the volunteer phone, open the invite link in NodeCam.
- If prompted, create a free account or sign in.
- Confirm that the phone opens the correct Recording Session.
- Have the volunteer tap Start Recording when the team is ready.
What to expect
- The invited user sees a welcome message saying they are ready to contribute.
- The session owner can see contributors and session videos after recordings are added.
- Contributor phones focus on recording their own camera angle rather than managing the full session.
Common gotchas
- Send the invite before the service starts so volunteers have time to sign in and grant permissions.
- Make sure every phone joins the same session; duplicate session names can confuse volunteers.
- If an invite link was copied long ago, generate a fresh one if joining fails.
If you still need help
Contact NodeCam support with your session name, device model, iOS version, and a screenshot of any warning or error message. Do not delete recordings until upload, export, or transfer has been verified.
