How do scheduled recording windows work?
Use a required time window so volunteer phones record only during the planned service window.
Before you start
- Make sure you are signed in to NodeCam on the phone you are using.
- Open the correct recording session before changing settings or recording.
- If you are working with volunteers, confirm who is the session owner and who is contributing a camera angle.
Steps
- Create or edit a session.
- Open the Scheduled Recording section.
- Turn on Require time window.
- Set the Start Time and End Time.
- Review the UTC Times summary that NodeCam shows for global coordination.
- Save or create the session.
- Ask all camera phones to join before the start time.
- Start recording during the allowed window.
What to expect
- NodeCam converts the chosen local times into UTC so all devices interpret the same window.
- The default window starts a few minutes in the future and lasts about an hour unless you change it.
- The app validates that the end time is after the start time.
Common gotchas
- A phone with poor time sync may have trouble with strict windows.
- Set the window generously for pre-service music, announcements, overtime, and altar calls.
- If volunteers are in different time zones, have everyone trust the session window shown in NodeCam.
If you still need help
Contact NodeCam support with your session name, device model, iOS version, and a screenshot of any warning or error message. Do not delete recordings until upload, export, or transfer has been verified.
