What should I do if an upload is waiting for network?
Resume uploads that are paused because the phone is offline, on cellular, or blocked by WiFi-only settings.
Before you start
- Make sure you are signed in to NodeCam on the phone you are using.
- Open the correct recording session before changing settings or recording.
- If you are working with volunteers, confirm who is the session owner and who is contributing a camera angle.
Steps
- Open Upload Progress and find the Waiting for Network section.
- Confirm the iPhone has internet access.
- Join a reliable WiFi network.
- If your church intentionally allows cellular uploads, change WiFi-only behavior if that option is available.
- Keep NodeCam open for a few minutes to confirm the upload moves to Currently Uploading.
- Tap Resume All if uploads were paused manually.
What to expect
- Uploads waiting for WiFi should resume after the phone joins a permitted network.
- If the network is weak or captive-portal based, uploads may still stall until the phone has real internet access.
Common gotchas
- Church guest WiFi may require accepting a web page before internet works.
- Cellular uploads can use a lot of data and battery.
- If every phone is waiting, the issue is likely network-wide rather than a single recording.
If you still need help
Contact NodeCam support with your session name, device model, iOS version, and a screenshot of any warning or error message. Do not delete recordings until upload, export, or transfer has been verified.
