What should I do if an upload fails?
Retry failed uploads and understand when NodeCam can avoid re-sending the whole video.
Before you start
- Make sure you are signed in to NodeCam on the phone you are using.
- Open the correct recording session before changing settings or recording.
- If you are working with volunteers, confirm who is the session owner and who is contributing a camera angle.
Steps
- Open Upload Progress.
- Find the video in Failed Uploads.
- Check whether the phone is online and has battery power.
- Tap Retry for the video or Retry All Failed.
- Leave NodeCam open while the retry begins.
- If the same item fails repeatedly, note the error and contact support before deleting files.
What to expect
- If all video chunks already uploaded and only final processing failed, NodeCam may retry the final step instead of re-uploading the entire file.
- If the upload session expired or data was corrupted, NodeCam may need to upload the file again.
- A successful retry moves the item toward Completed Uploads.
Common gotchas
- Do not delete the local recording while an upload is failed or retrying.
- Repeated 502 or timeout-style failures may mean the server is still processing a large file.
- Large church-service recordings can take many minutes to retry on slow networks.
If you still need help
Contact NodeCam support with your session name, device model, iOS version, and a screenshot of any warning or error message. Do not delete recordings until upload, export, or transfer has been verified.
