How do Cloud Uploads work after recording?
Understand what happens after a cloud-mode recording stops and why uploads may begin before enhancement finishes.
Before you start
- Make sure you are signed in to NodeCam on the phone you are using.
- Open the correct recording session before changing settings or recording.
- If you are working with volunteers, confirm who is the session owner and who is contributing a camera angle.
Steps
- Stop recording normally.
- Wait while NodeCam saves the file.
- NodeCam queues the upload immediately after recording completes.
- NodeCam may also create timing metadata and try to enhance the video with timecode in the background.
- If enhancement finishes before upload starts, NodeCam can upload the enhanced version.
- If enhancement is slow or fails, NodeCam uploads the original video so transfer is not blocked.
- Open Upload Progress to monitor status.
What to expect
- Uploads are designed to start quickly instead of waiting indefinitely for extra processing.
- Timecode enhancement is best-effort; the original recording remains the fallback.
- Uploads may continue while the app is in the background, depending on iOS conditions and network availability.
Common gotchas
- Do not force quit the app immediately after recording.
- WiFi Only Upload settings can pause transfer until WiFi is available.
- Large videos can take a long time even when the queue is working correctly.
If you still need help
Contact NodeCam support with your session name, device model, iOS version, and a screenshot of any warning or error message. Do not delete recordings until upload, export, or transfer has been verified.
