How do I share or save session files?
Choose the right handoff method for editors, volunteers, and church archives.
Before you start
- Make sure you are signed in to NodeCam on the phone you are using.
- Open the correct recording session before changing settings or recording.
- If you are working with volunteers, confirm who is the session owner and who is contributing a camera angle.
Steps
- For a single phone recording, save to Photos if you need a quick local copy.
- Use Save to Files when you want to place the file in iCloud Drive, external storage, or a shared folder.
- Use Share ZIP File after exporting a full session package.
- Send editors the ZIP rather than individual clips when they need synchronized camera angles.
- Confirm the receiver can open the file before deleting any local recording.
What to expect
- Session ZIPs are best for multi-camera editing.
- Individual video saves are useful for backups, social clips, or quick review.
- Large files may need AirDrop, external drive, cloud storage, or desktop transfer.
Common gotchas
- Messaging apps may compress video and remove quality or metadata.
- Photos is convenient but not always the best archive location.
- For client or sermon archives, keep a separate backup outside the phone.
If you still need help
Contact NodeCam support with your session name, device model, iOS version, and a screenshot of any warning or error message. Do not delete recordings until upload, export, or transfer has been verified.
