How do I use On-Site Transfer with NodeCam Desktop?
Collect recordings locally after a service when the session was created in On-Site Transfer mode.
Before you start
- Make sure you are signed in to NodeCam on the phone you are using.
- Open the correct recording session before changing settings or recording.
- If you are working with volunteers, confirm who is the session owner and who is contributing a camera angle.
Steps
- Create the session with Transfer Mode set to On-Site Transfer.
- Record normally on each iPhone.
- After stopping, keep NodeCam open on every phone.
- Keep each iPhone unlocked during transfer.
- Open NodeCam Desktop on a Mac or Windows computer.
- Connect phones as directed by the desktop app, typically using USB or the local transfer workflow provided.
- Verify access with an internet connection when prompted.
- Transfer each phone’s recordings and confirm the files appear on the desktop before clearing local storage.
What to expect
- The on-site completion screen explains that recordings stay on the phone until transferred.
- Owners or operators should verify every camera angle before volunteers leave.
Common gotchas
- On-site transfer is not the same as cloud upload; files are not automatically safe in the cloud.
- Locked phones, closed apps, bad cables, or missing trust prompts can block transfer.
- Do not delete local files until the desktop copy has been opened or verified.
If you still need help
Contact NodeCam support with your session name, device model, iOS version, and a screenshot of any warning or error message. Do not delete recordings until upload, export, or transfer has been verified.
