How long are on-site recordings kept on the phone?
Understand local retention for on-site recordings and when it is safe to delete them.
Before you start
- Make sure you are signed in to NodeCam on the phone you are using.
- Open the correct recording session before changing settings or recording.
- If you are working with volunteers, confirm who is the session owner and who is contributing a camera angle.
Steps
- After an on-site recording, review the On-Site Recording Complete screen.
- Note the local file count and total size.
- Transfer recordings to NodeCam Desktop as soon as practical.
- Use Manage On-Site Storage to review transferred, untransferred, and expired sessions.
- Only delete local files after the desktop transfer has been verified.
- Keep important services backed up in your normal church media storage.
What to expect
- NodeCam messaging indicates on-site recordings are kept locally for a limited retention period, commonly shown as 7 days.
- Local storage can fill quickly with long services, 4K, or ProRes files.
Common gotchas
- Retention is not a backup plan. Transfer files promptly.
- Deleting local files before transfer can permanently remove a camera angle.
- If storage is full, future recordings may stop or fail.
If you still need help
Contact NodeCam support with your session name, device model, iOS version, and a screenshot of any warning or error message. Do not delete recordings until upload, export, or transfer has been verified.
